[Financial News] The Bank of Korea (BOK) said on the 8th, "Mathematically, achieving this year's projected economic growth rate of 3.3% would be possible if the economy grows by an average of 0.2% to 0.3% in the second half of the year."
Kim Hwayong, head of the BOK's National Income Division, explained at a briefing on second-quarter national income held at the BOK in Jung District, Seoul, "Mathematically, if the quarter-on-quarter growth rate averages 0.2% to 0.3% in the second half, 3.3% growth for the year would be possible."
If South Korea achieves growth in the 3% range, it would be the first time in five years since 2021.
At the end of August, the BOK sharply raised its forecast for South Korea's economic growth this year from 2.6% to 3.3%.
