[Financial News] CJ CheilJedang’s premium Korean distilled-liquor brand ‘jari’ has won awards at global spirits competitions ahead of its U.S. launch.
According to CJ CheilJedang on the 8th, three jari products—jari Munbaesul 24, jari Munbaesul 41, and jari Gamuchi 24—won awards at this year’s International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) and International Spirits Challenge (ISC) 2026.
Along with the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), these are regarded as three of the world’s leading and most prestigious spirits competitions.
At the 2026 IWSC, jari Munbaesul 24 and jari Munbaesul 41 won silver medals, while jari Gamuchi 24 received a bronze medal. Praised for their distinctive delicate fruit aromas, smooth textures, and balanced flavors, jari Munbaesul 41 and jari Munbaesul 24 scored 94 and 91 points, respectively.
At the 2026 ISC, jari Munbaesul 24 won a gold medal, while jari Munbaesul 41 and jari Gamuchi 24 each received silver medals. The ISC is a leading international spirits competition in which a panel of professional judges evaluates spirits from around the world through blind tastings, assessing their quality, flavor, and overall finish.
jari is a premium Korean distilled-soju brand that ages base liquor from outstanding traditional Korean spirits and transforms it into premium distilled liquor. In July, CJ CheilJedang collaborated with Munbaeju Brewery and Danong Bio to introduce jari Munbaesul 24 and jari Gamuchi 24 in Korea. The company plans to launch jari in the U.S. market this fall.
A CJ CheilJedang representative said, "We will continue expanding opportunities for global consumers to experience Korea’s food culture in diverse ways through jari."
