Kolon Global Conducts On-site Verification of Six External Innovative Technologies, Including AI and Drones

[Financial News] Kolon Global is enhancing the technological maturity of six innovative technologies from external companies, including artificial intelligence (AI), drones, the Internet of Things (IoT), and building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV), through field demonstrations.
According to Kolon Global on the 8th, the company will conduct field demonstrations and proof-of-concept tests this year for four smart construction technologies and two eco-friendly technologies through open innovation. The approach combines the technologies of external companies with Kolon Global's field experience and infrastructure.
The smart construction technologies are being pursued through the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT)'s 'Smart Construction Technology Demonstration Support Project.' Kolon Global will verify AI-based monitoring technology using intelligent cameras with ConTI Lab Co., Ltd. and demonstrate drone-based structural crack management technology with Seonggeon Engineering.
The company will also test earthwork automation technology using Youngshin's 3D excavator and PiQuant's IoT-based hazardous gas monitoring technology. Kolon Global plans to determine whether these technologies can improve quality control and work efficiency at construction sites.
The eco-friendly technologies will be verified through 'Inno-wave,' the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED)'s super-gap startup project.
With Zest, Kolon Global will demonstrate an advanced solution for predicting renewable energy production in zero-energy buildings. The main verification targets are improvements in energy efficiency and optimization of building operations.
With Hexa Energy, the company will test highly transparent BIPV modules incorporating new materials. It plans to examine whether the modules can be used on-site as an eco-friendly building technology and assess their commercialization potential.
Kolon Global plans to strengthen its open innovation system by using data obtained during the demonstration process to improve the technologies and ensure that verified technologies lead to further field applications and commercialization.
