Daegu Metropolitan City to Subsidize Real Estate Brokerage Fees by Up to KRW 300,000 for Young, Homeless Household Heads

Daegu Metropolitan City is recruiting applicants for the Daegu Youth Real Estate Brokerage Fee Support Program to ease the financial burden on young household heads in the region who frequently move for work or study.
Eligible applicants are homeless household heads aged 19 to 39 who reported moving into Daegu Metropolitan City from another area or moving within the city on or after January 1, 2026. Applicants may apply if their income is at or below 150% of the median income and they live in jeonse or monthly rental housing with a housing lease transaction amount of KRW 150 million or less.
To minimize gaps in support based on housing type, young people living in non-housing facilities such as gosiwons and guesthouses may also receive support. They must submit relevant documents, including a confirmation of occupancy, a rental business registration certificate, and a brokerage fee receipt, where preparing a formal lease agreement is difficult.
Jeong Eun-ju, Director of the Youth and Women’s Education Bureau, emphasized, “The burden of brokerage fees incurred when young people move to a new home for a fresh start is by no means small. I urge eligible young people to apply actively so they do not miss out on this benefit.”
The subsidy covers up to KRW 300,000 of the brokerage fee personally paid by the applicant, limited to the amount actually paid, and is available once per lifetime. However, applicants are excluded if they have received support through a similar program run by a central government ministry or another local government, rent a home owned by their parents, receive housing benefits, or own a home, including presale rights or occupancy rights.
Applications can be submitted through the Daegu Youth Community Portal “Jeompeu” and the Daegu Youth Center website through November. For details on application procedures and required documents, applicants can visit the websites or contact the Daegu Youth Center.
