Woori Bank announced on the 8th that it held a plaque unveiling ceremony for Recognized Store at Yeonhwa Siktak in Mapo District, Seoul, on the 7th, together with the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency and Good Influence Store.
Recognized Store is an inclusive finance initiative by Woori Bank and the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency to support the stable growth of small business owners. The name signifies both growing into a store recognized by customers and creating a store where warm human connections are shared.
Eighteen small business owners with a strong commitment to contributing to their local communities, including users of the Woori Miso Finance Foundation and members of Good Influence Store, were selected as Recognized Stores. The selected stores will receive official certification plaques and stickers for display, promotional funding to strengthen online marketing, and support for social media and media promotion to enhance their competitiveness.
The first plaque unveiling ceremony was held at Yeonhwa Siktak, a small restaurant with about 10 tables that has provided local residents with carefully prepared food and service. Jin-owan Jung, president of Woori Bank; Kim Eun-kyung, president of the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency; and Kim Sung-ryung, chairperson of Good Influence Store, attended the ceremony, held a luncheon meeting with the representative of Yeonhwa Siktak, and exchanged views on the difficulties small business owners face in the field and the support they need.
Jin-owan Jung, president of Woori Bank, said, "We will help small business owners achieve self-reliance and growth through practical support and create a virtuous cycle of inclusive finance that revitalizes the local economy. We will continue various support activities for small business owners and fulfill the financial sector's social responsibility."
Meanwhile, Woori Bank and the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency are jointly carrying out various social contribution activities, including sponsoring scholarships for young people preparing for independence, providing lightweight handcarts and safety equipment to elderly waste collectors, and conducting promotional campaigns to prevent illegal private lending. In May, Woori Bank and the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency provided independence-promotion scholarships and financial and financial-management education to strengthen self-reliance capabilities for 100 people, including low-income young people preparing for independence, young people caring for family members, and socially isolated young people, to help them establish stable lives in society.
