Dong Wha Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Donates Proceeds from the Whal Myung Su 128th Anniversary Edition to Improve Water and Sanitation in Nepal

Dong Wha Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. announced on the 8th that it had donated the proceeds from sales of the Whal Myung Su 128th anniversary edition, released last year, to the Korean Red Cross Seoul Chapter as funds for the 'Life-Saving Water' campaign.
The handover ceremony, held at the Korean Red Cross Seoul Chapter, was attended by Yoo Junha, CEO of Dong Wha Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Kwon Young-kyu, President of the Korean Red Cross Seoul Chapter, and Secretary General Heo Hye-sook. The attendees shared updates on the progress of projects in Nepal and proceeded with the donation handover ceremony.
As with last year, the donations are scheduled to be used to improve and provide water and sanitation facilities in the Sankuwasabha region of Nepal, as well as for health and hygiene education and campaigns for residents.
The Korean Red Cross is conducting the 'Integrated Water, Sanitation and Disaster Risk Reduction (I-WASH & DRR)' project in Villages 1 and 2 of Savapokhari Rural Municipality in Nepal's Sankuwasabha region. The four-year project, being carried out from 2023 to 2026, supports 1,078 households and 4,994 people in areas including disaster risk reduction, school safety, water and sanitation, and public health and hygiene.
Dong Wha Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has been donating proceeds from sales of Whal Myung Su commemorative editions since 2013 to carry the meaning of Whal Myung Su—'water that saves lives'—into its social contribution activities. This year marks the 13th such donation.
Whal Myung Su is Korea's longest-running pharmaceutical brand, launched in 1897. Dong Wha Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. introduced a 127th anniversary edition in collaboration with Kodak, a film manufacturer, in 2024, and released a 128th anniversary edition in collaboration with outdoor brand Millet last year.
An official from Dong Wha Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. said, "We are continuing the campaign to share with society the meaning of 'life-saving water' embodied by Whal Myung Su. We will continue to fulfill our corporate social responsibility by providing practical assistance to local communities."
