“I Want to Work Here”... SK hynix Named the No. 1 Company by Employees

[Financial News] SK hynix ranked first overall in company evaluations by current and former employees. It also received the highest rating in the manufacturing and chemicals category. NAVER was selected in four categories, including information technology (IT), development, planning and marketing—the most of any company.
According to the results released on the 8th by Jobplanet, operated by Worksphere, companies were evaluated by industry and job function based on reviews from current and former employees. A total of 59 companies were selected as “Best Companies to Work For.” SK hynix recorded the highest overall score among all companies.
The evaluation was conducted separately by industry and job function. The four industry categories were manufacturing and chemicals, information technology (IT), distribution and trade, and media and design. The four job-function categories were development, planning, marketing and sales.
The evaluation used company reviews posted by current and former employees. In addition to workplace-related factors such as pay and benefits, promotion opportunities, work-life balance and internal culture, it also considered company recommendation rates, growth potential and chief executive officer (CEO) approval ratings.
By industry, SK hynix ranked first in the manufacturing and chemicals category. It also received the highest overall score among all companies and won the top overall award.
Several companies stood out for being selected in multiple industries and job functions. NAVER was recognized in four categories: IT, development, planning and marketing. FRL Korea and Samsung Electronics were each selected in three categories.
Fourteen companies, including CJ Olive Young, LG Uplus, SK Telecom, Woowa Brothers and Hyundai Motor, were each selected in two categories. The list included many companies that received high scores not only in evaluations of specific industries but also in job-function evaluations reflecting actual work performed.
Beginning in the second half of this year, Jobplanet revamped its evaluation system to distinguish organizational experiences according to industry and job function. The change was intended to reflect workplace experiences that can vary by job function within the same company, moving beyond a single evaluation of the company as a whole.
A Jobplanet representative said, “We revamped the evaluation system so that organizational experiences by industry and job function can be examined.” The representative added, “It will also help people understand organizational experiences by industry and job function, which are difficult to identify based solely on a company’s size or name recognition.”
