[Financial News] Kia Corporation is launching its largest second-half entry-level recruitment drive in three years and will become the first automaker to introduce an “AI problem-solving ability” assessment. The move is aimed at identifying human–AI collaboration-oriented talent who can use artificial intelligence as a practical work partner, rather than simply competing on qualifications, and securing leadership in future new businesses.
Kia Corporation announced on the 8th that it will begin its 2026 second-half focused recruitment drive on the 15th, centered on future new-business areas. The company is recruiting for 30 areas, including production and manufacturing, IT, business and planning, corporate support, and research and development. Applications for entry-level positions will be accepted from the 15th to the 29th, while applications for experienced-hire positions will be accepted from the 23rd through October 7 via the global recruitment platform Kia Talent Lounge.
The key feature of this recruitment drive is the newly introduced evaluation method. Kia Corporation has added an “AI problem-solving ability” assessment to its entry-level recruitment process, making it the first company in the industry to evaluate how applicants use AI to analyze assigned tasks and develop solutions. In the era of generative AI, the company intends to closely assess practical capabilities—not merely the ability to operate tools—including the capacity to create new business value through collaboration with AI.
A bold recruitment information session designed to expand engagement with the next generation is also drawing attention. Before applications open, Kia Corporation will operate a recruitment pop-up store at Cociety in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, from the 10th to the 11th, reflecting Generation Z trends. In particular, the event will introduce a “morning rave” party concept, featuring a DJ’s music and nonalcoholic beverages in the morning. It will be the first time the concept has been incorporated into a domestic recruitment event, creating an informal setting for communication with applicants. Other programs will provide practical, job-focused information for job seekers, including an exhibition of successful applicants’ personal statements and group consultations with current employees.
A Kia Corporation representative said, “We have significantly innovated our selection process in line with changes in the industrial ecosystem, where AI and humans solve problems together,” adding, “We hope that many talented individuals with the capabilities to expand the possibilities of future new businesses with us will apply.”
