[Financial News] Rapper NO:EL (real name: Jang Yong) has revealed how his daily life changed after causing controversy over drunk driving. After drinking, he now calls a designated driver himself. He also checks his condition with a breathalyzer before going out.
Recently, the YouTube channel "Good Guys" uploaded two videos titled "Good Guys" and "Land of Fantasy." The videos showed NO:EL and rapper Han Yo-han drinking together and having candid conversations.
In particular, NO:EL called a designated driver himself after the gathering ended. He said, "I'm a man who calls a designated driver now. My mother would scold me if she found out, but I can't help it. I have to call a designated driver," adding, "Live a proper life. Properly, but enjoyably."
In the next video, NO:EL said, "I have a routine these days before I go out. I bought a car, and my mother is worried. She tells me to be careful about driving with a hangover." He then took out a breathalyzer and blew into it as hard as he could.
After checking the result, NO:EL drew attention by showing a changed attitude, saying, "Because it's 0.063, I'll take a taxi."
Born in 2000, NO:EL is the son of former lawmaker Chang Je-won. He became known to the public after appearing on Mnet's audition programs High School Rapper and Show Me the Money 6 in 2017.
However, he became the center of controversy after causing a drunk-driving accident in 2019. He faced particularly strong criticism after circumstances emerged suggesting that he had called an acquaintance and attempted to switch drivers after the accident. As a result, he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for two years.
In 2021, he was again brought to trial on charges of driving under the influence without a license and assaulting a police officer. He was sentenced to one year in prison and served the sentence. He was released after completing his sentence in October 2022.
