North Gyeongsang Province Puts All-Out Effort into Economic Exchange and Cooperation in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

North Gyeongsang Province Vice Governor Hwang Myung-seok will visit Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from the 11th to the 12th to attend the 'Global Saemaul Economic Cooperation Conference'.
During the event, they will engage in economic cooperation diplomacy by interacting with local North Gyeongsang businesspeople and Vietnamese government officials.
Vice Governor Hwang emphasized, "This visit to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, will be an important opportunity to expand the scope of the Saemaul Movement—North Gyeongsang Province's representative brand—through economic cooperation and to devise practical support measures at the provincial level through communication with businesspeople operating locally."
In particular, this visit was arranged to share the achievements of the Vietnam Saemaul Globalization Project, which the province has been promoting for over 20 years, and to expand areas of cooperation such as the economy and culture through the Saemaul Movement, going beyond rural development aid.
On the morning of the 11th, he will visit the Ho Chi Minh City overseas office to inspect its operational status. Following this, he will hold a meeting with overseas advisory committee members and officials from the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss measures for pioneering overseas markets, attracting investment, and revitalizing international exchanges.
On the evening of the same day, he will hold talks with high-ranking officials of the Ho Chi Minh City government to discuss mutually beneficial cooperation measures for the two regions marking 10 years of friendly exchanges.
Next, he will attend the 'Global Saemaul Economic Cooperation Conference' held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities on the 12th.
This event is an occasion to review the achievements of the Saemaul Globalization Project, which has continued for over 20 years, and to present a vision to expand the scope of the project into the economy and culture.
North Gyeongsang Province, Yeungnam University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the Saemaul Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation for the Saemaul Globalization Project at this event, planning to jointly promote academic research, the cultivation of Saemaul talent, and economic and cultural cooperation.
On the afternoon of the same day, they will visit the Vietnam subsidiary of Daeyoung Electronics, a manufacturing company from North Gyeongsang Province located near Ho Chi Minh City, to inspect the production site.
Finally, the official schedule concludes with a meeting with North Gyeongsang business leaders operating in Vietnam, where they will listen to trade trends and business concerns regarding Ho Chi Minh City, an economic hub in Southeast Asia.
