Jeju Province Escapes Krovan’s Influence, Clear on the 8th... Strong Winds and Waves of Up to 5 Meters Return From the 9th

【Financial News Jeju=Jung Yong-bok】 Jeju Province will see mostly clear weather on the 8th, but northeast winds will strengthen again from the afternoon of the 9th, bringing waves of up to 5 meters to the southern offshore waters.
According to the Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 8th, Jeju Province will be mostly clear, while mountainous areas will occasionally see considerable cloud cover. Daytime highs will reach 28–29°C, similar to or slightly above the average of 26.7–28.3°C.
Winds will remain relatively stable through the 8th but will strengthen again from the 9th.
Northeast to easterly winds will gradually strengthen from the morning of the 9th, with strong winds expected in major areas including Jeju, Seogwipo and Gosan in the afternoon. Relatively stronger winds may blow in eastern areas such as Seongsan.
Northeast to easterly winds are forecast to remain strong on the 10th before weakening somewhat from the 11th.
Conditions at sea will fluctuate more widely than those on land. On the 8th, wave heights in the waters off Jeju Province will generally range from 0.5 to 2.5 meters. Waves are expected to reach up to 2.5 meters in the southern and eastern coastal waters and up to 2 meters in the northern and western coastal waters.
As winds strengthen from the 9th, waves will rise again. Waves in the southern and eastern coastal waters of Jeju Province could reach up to 4 meters in the afternoon, while those in the southwestern inner offshore waters could also rise to as high as 4 meters.
In particular, wave heights in the southeastern inner offshore waters of Jeju Province and the southern outer offshore waters are forecast to reach 2–5 meters on the afternoon of the 9th.
High waves of up to 5 meters may continue in these waters on the morning of the 10th. They are expected to gradually subside from the afternoon, falling to about 2.5–3 meters on the 11th.
Coastal swells will also require caution in Jeju Province for the time being. People should prepare for the possibility of high waves overtopping breakwaters, rocky shores and coastal roads.
From the 9th through the 11th, land areas will occasionally see considerable cloud cover, but no significant rain is expected. Morning lows on the 9th will be 22–23°C, with daytime highs of 27–29°C. On the 10th, temperatures are forecast to range from 22°C in the morning to 26–28°C during the day, while the 11th will see a morning low of 22°C and a daytime high of 27–28°C.
