Trump Floods U.S. Holiday Social Media With AI Memes of Boasting, Mockery and Renamed Places

[Financial News] U.S. President Donald Trump continued posting numerous messages on his social media platform Truth Social during the U.S. Labor Day holiday weekend (the 5th through the 7th).
More than 60 posts were uploaded to his Truth Social account on Sunday the 6th, the second day of the holiday weekend. Many appeared to be memes generated using artificial intelligence (AI).



The post that drew the most attention was a map renaming New Mexico as “New America.” The image showed the word “Mexico” crossed out with a red X, with “America” written below it.
The image has sparked renewed controversy and opposition from the Democratic Party, the U.S. opposition party, as Trump has become fixated on changing existing place names by attaching his own name or the word America.
On the 7th, Trump also posted several maps changing New Mexico to New America. Other maps showed Canada and Greenland as U.S. territory as well.
Among the posts Trump uploaded over the two days was an image renaming Lake Ontario, which borders the United States, as “Lake America” amid the trade war with Canada.
He also posted a cartoon image of himself playing ice hockey with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, who had fallen on the ice, while saying, “Get up, governor.”




One post claimed that the Strait of Hormuz was U.S. territory. Other images reshaped Iran on a Middle Eastern map to resemble Trump’s profile and showed him striking Iran with a hammer bearing the U.S. flag.
Trump also posted several surreal images of himself surrounded by combat robots, with the words “Give them nightmares” written across them.
He also posted an AI-generated image of Hulk Hogan wearing a red headband reading “Make America Great Again (MAGA)” and draping the U.S. flag over his shoulder. On closer inspection, however, the face was that of Trump. Another composite image showed Trump arm-wrestling Hogan, with Trump smiling casually while Hogan grimaced in apparent pain.





He reposted an image declaring himself “The Greatest” among all U.S. presidents. He also uploaded images of himself riding alongside George Washington and inviting the first president to the White House for a conversation.
An image believed to be a design for a Space Force uniform posted by Trump faced criticism for evoking Nazi Germany. Starship Troopers, which Trump said inspired the uniform design, is a 1997 film that satirizes fascism. Critics noted that the uniform appeared to be modeled on the fascist military in the film, prompting mockery that it was “not the Space Force, but the Space Nazis.”
He also posted a photo bearing the words “The moon is ours” and displaying the U.S. flag. As the United States and China compete in lunar exploration, he unilaterally claimed ownership of the moon for the United States.





Trump also posted a photo of famed actor Robert De Niro holding a red shirt that read “Trump is my president,” adding, “Even this idiot is starting to understand.” De Niro is one of Hollywood’s most prominent Trump critics, making it highly likely that the image was fabricated.
Meanwhile, Trump is spending the holiday weekend at his golf course in New Jersey. When he arrived in New Jersey on the 4th and stepped off Air Force One, he appeared with his hair changed from blond to dark brown.
Conservative outlet Fox News reported that “social media was flooded with reactions,” including comments such as, “Trump having brown hair was not on my 2026 bingo card at all,” and “I guess brown is the new blond.”\u00a0
