Trump Says, "I Am the Greatest President" as He Floods Social Media During Holiday Weekend

U.S. President Donald Trump flooded social media with AI-generated images and a wide range of unverified claims over the Labor Day holiday weekend. He claimed to be the greatest president in U.S. history, surpassing George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. He also claimed that he had made hundreds of billions of dollars for the United States through stocks and other assets he owned.
Trump continued posting large numbers of messages boasting about his achievements and AI-generated images on Truth Social on the 7th, following a similar barrage on the 6th (local time).
According to CNBC, the images he posted included depictions of Iran's defeat and one showing him riding a horse alongside George Washington, the nation's first president. Another image, believed to be AI-generated, showed actor Robert De Niro holding a shirt bearing the words, "Trump is my president."

Without offering any explanation, Trump posted an image suggesting that he alone was the "greatest" president. All the other presidents ranked below Trump. Lincoln, Washington, Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR), Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson were all labeled "great" presidents, one tier below Trump.
Ronald Reagan was placed at the lower level of "near great," while Bill Clinton, John F. Kennedy (JFK) and Harry Truman were rated "average."
George H.W. Bush (the elder) and Lyndon B. Johnson were rated "below average," while Joe Biden, Barack Obama, George W. Bush (the younger) and Jimmy Carter were labeled "failed" presidents.

An AI-generated image showed the president sitting in the White House in front of several monitors tracking the stock market. It included the words, "I am doing this not for myself, but for our country. I have made hundreds of billions of dollars for America through stocks and many other types of assets I own." It was followed by the message, "All I get is criticism from the Radical Left Democrats. Very unfair, but what can you do!"
The Trump administration acquired a 10% stake in semiconductor company Intel last August, and that stake is now worth more than $50 billion. However, Trump has also faced widespread criticism for using his power for personal gain. He announces policies through Truth Social and has allowed subscribers to the $100,000-a-month "Truth API" to see his posts slightly earlier. Because presidential policies can move financial markets, the arrangement has drawn significant criticism. In July, the Senate urged the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to investigate whether the "Truth API" operated by Trump Media, the parent company of Truth Social, violates federal securities laws.

Trump also claimed victory without offering evidence in the war with Iran, which began with his decision on February 28 and has drawn heavy criticism for now dragging the United States into a quagmire. He posted dozens of AI-generated images depicting Iran's destruction, along with economic infographics shared without verifiable sources.
One chart claimed that Iran's currency had been "destroyed," while another showed Iran on a map alongside the words, "Iran is a failed country."
Other AI-generated images showed Trump watching several ships explode from the deck of a warship, swinging an American flag-themed hammer at a map of Iran, or depicting explosions on Kharg Island as fighter jets flew overhead, accompanied by the words, "Goodbye, Kharg."

Trump also posted a series of images portraying himself to voters as an American hero and savior.
The images included one showing him as a leader surrounded by futuristic robots with the U.S. Capitol in the background, and another depicting him as a Hulk Hogan-like professional wrestler wearing a red MAGA hat and draped in an American flag.
He also posted an AI-generated image of himself commanding the U.S. Space Force, which he established during his first term and for which he recently decided to establish a military academy.

Trump, who promotes the slogan "Make America Great Again (MAGA)," also claimed that the United States dominates the entire Earth and even outer space.
In the AI-generated posts he released during the holiday weekend, natural landmarks and famous celestial bodies were all depicted as being under U.S. control, while countries, territories and objects were portrayed as American possessions or territory.
One AI image labeled the Strait of Hormuz as "new American territory." In another, New Mexico had been renamed the "state of New America." This was interpreted as suggesting that Trump, who renamed the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America, also wants to rename New Mexico the state of New America.
There was also an image of the moon displaying the words, "The moon is ours," along with the American flag.
