[Financial News] Ahn Jung-hwan said that, even after reaching his YouTube donation target of 500 million won, he is considering the direction of his future activities because of the emotional wounds he has suffered.
The YouTube channel 'Ahn Jung-hwan 19' released a video titled 'I Have Something to Tell You' on the 7th.
In the video, Ahn Jung-hwan announced that he had reached his donation target. He said, "We achieved the 500 million won donation target we had set."
Ahn Jung-hwan thanked those who helped during the production process. He said, "I am grateful to the companies and everyone who provided us with product placement (PPL)," adding, "It broke my heart that the production staff could not even take home their salaries and that we were working in a basement office that cost 400,000 won."
Although he had reached the target, Ahn Jung-hwan did not look entirely cheerful. He said, "I am a little worried about what we should do from now on," adding, "The soccer world is also extremely bitter."
He also spoke about how he felt regarding the criticism he had received. Ahn Jung-hwan confessed, "Our staff and everyone else worked hard, and although we did not set out to do something good, things ended up reaching this point. Being criticized despite doing something good has left me dispirited and drained."
Kim Nam-gil offered words of encouragement to Ahn Jung-hwan. He said, "I have been watching since the middle, and it seems there were difficult moments. It must have been hard to get this far if Jung-hwan had not had the strength to endure."
Ahn Jung-hwan said he needed time to recover emotionally for the time being. He said, "I need to think about what to do next, but I have been emotionally hurt, so I think I need time to heal. I want to continue doing good things. I am considering which direction to take."
Since starting his YouTube activities, Ahn Jung-hwan has donated his earnings to children preparing for independence and youth soccer scholarships. Even when he announced plans to open a pizza restaurant, he said he would donate part of the proceeds to people and places in need.
He has also previously explained on television why he began donating. On tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block,' Ahn Jung-hwan said, "I was not particularly well-off when I was young, so I thought it would be good to help others. What began as a small effort has continued to this day."
