Elivision Moves Beyond Kiosks to AI Unmanned Systems, Targeting Defense Robots with Roboworks and Kanavi Mobility

[Financial News] Elivision is expanding its business beyond kiosks and digital signage into artificial intelligence (AI) robots, drones and the defense industry. In partnership with companies specializing in robotics and autonomous-driving sensor technologies, it is targeting the integrated unmanned-systems market, which connects aerial drones and ground-based unmanned robots within a single system.
According to the company on the 8th, Elivision signed a three-way memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Roboworks and Kanavi Mobility for an integrated business involving AI robots, drones, national defense and autonomous driving.
The core objective is to combine the three companies’ technologies to build an unmanned system linking drones, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). Rather than focusing solely on developing individual robots or drones, the companies are pursuing an integrated solution encompassing sensors, communications and command-and-control systems.
Elivision will use its existing digital-interface technologies to develop and commercialize an integrated robot-and-drone operations and command platform. Roboworks will participate in developing robots for surveillance, reconnaissance and military logistics based on its AMR, UGV and collaborative-robot technologies. Kanavi Mobility will apply LiDAR and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technologies to advance autonomous navigation and communications between robots and drones.
The three companies are initially considering AI surveillance and reconnaissance drones, ground-based security robots, and integrated unmanned systems combining drones and UGVs. They also plan to jointly participate in R&D projects involving the Ministry of National Defense and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), as well as military-related civilian-military technology cooperation and defense demonstration projects.
A defense-industry official said, "Recently, the competitiveness of unmanned systems has increasingly depended not only on the performance of individual drones or robots, but also on how organically AI command systems, sensors and communications can be connected." The official added, "The dual-use civilian-military market, which applies civilian technologies to defense operations, is also expanding."
The companies plan to expand technologies secured through defense projects into civilian fields such as disaster response, firefighting, facility safety, smart factories and logistics automation. Their goal is to establish a structure that connects defense demonstrations to mass production and the civilian market.
An Elivision official added, "We will combine robot, drone, LiDAR, V2X and digital-platform technologies and turn them into actual business opportunities." The official continued, "We plan to build a business model that extends from technology development to demonstrations, mass production and entry into overseas markets."
