[Financial News] Hanyang Institute for Entrepreneurship announced on the 7th that Huject, a campus-town resident company, will participate with an exhibition booth in 'Try Everything 2026,' held from the 9th to the 10th at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.
Try Everything is a startup event hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Maekyung Media Group and organized by the Seoul Business Agency. The event features technology exhibitions, startup investor relations (IR) sessions, one-on-one meetings between investors and companies, and conferences.
Huject is a laboratory startup established in 2020 based on the energy-harvesting technology of Seed Lab at Hanyang University. It develops and supplies infrastructure-monitoring systems, including systems for underground power conduits, using technology that converts energy generated in the surrounding environment into electrical energy.
At this year's event, Huject will exhibit Energy Block, a self-powered paving block. The product converts the pressure and vibration generated when pedestrians step on the block into electrical energy, which illuminates LEDs on its surface. It does not require an external power source or battery.
Energy Block has been installed on Yangjaecheon-ro in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, as well as at Pyeongtaek Agricultural Eco-Park in Gyeonggi Province and Seolseong Park in Eumseong County, North Chungcheong Province. Huject said it also plans to install the product at Ilsan Lake Park this month as an interactive, board-game-style attraction.
Meanwhile, Huject raised a total of KRW 1.8 billion in pre-Series A funding from Korea Investment Accelerator and EcoPro Partners in 2023. It was also selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' Super Gap Startup 1000+ Project.
