[Financial News] Samsung Group will begin its second-half open recruitment on the 8th. Samsung Group is the only company among the four major business groups in South Korea that maintains an open recruitment system. After introducing the country’s first open recruitment program for new employees in 1957, Samsung Group has maintained the system for 70 years.
According to Samsung Group on the 7th, 19 affiliates will participate in this recruitment drive, including Samsung Electronics, Samsung C&T, Samsung Biologics, Samsung Bioepis, Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Display, Samsung SDI, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, SDS, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Samsung Card, Samsung Securities, Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung E&A, Hotel Shilla, Cheil Worldwide, S-1, Samsung Medical Center and Samsung Welstory.
Applicants can submit their applications through the Samsung Careers website from the 8th to the 15th.
The recruitment process will proceed in the following order: a job suitability assessment in September, the Global Samsung Aptitude Test (GSAT) in October, interviews in November and a medical examination.
Applicants for software positions will take a practical software competency test instead of GSAT, while applicants for design positions will undergo a design portfolio review instead of GSAT.
Samsung Group is also leading the culture of “open recruitment.”
In 1993, it introduced open recruitment for female college graduates and, in 1995, removed academic qualifications from its eligibility requirements.
Samsung Group is also working to expand domestic investment and youth hiring in order to foster advanced industries, including semiconductors, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, batteries and displays.
Lee Jae-yong, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, attended an economic organizations and business leaders’ meeting held at the presidential office in August last year and pledged, "We will continue making related investments so that we can consistently create quality jobs in Korea and foster high-value-added industries."
Samsung Group continues various talent development initiatives, including strengthening young people’s software capabilities and cultivating AI talent at the national level.
To help strengthen young people’s software capabilities, Samsung Group operates the Samsung Youth SW·AI Academy (SSAFY), which provides high-quality education free of charge, at five campuses nationwide in Seoul, Daejeon, Gwangju, Gumi and Busan. Since 2019, more than 9,400 SSAFY graduates have found jobs at about 2,600 companies in South Korea and abroad.
Samsung Group recently expanded eligibility from university graduates to graduates of meister high schools and completely revamped the SSAFY curriculum around AI to contribute to the development of AI talent at the national level.
Samsung Group also hires skilled talent who achieve outstanding results at the National Skills Competition. From 2007 to 2025, about 1,600 winners and other award recipients from the National Skills Competition were specially recruited by Samsung Electronics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung Display and other affiliates.
