[Financial News] The Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) and the Korea Employment Information Service (KEIS) are holding a contest to find a new name for the 'Korean-style Artificial Intelligence (AI) Exposure Index and Canary Dashboard'.
MOEL and KEIS are holding the 'AI Exposure Index & Canary Dashboard Naming Contest' from the 7th to the 27th.
The AI Exposure Index and the Canary Dashboard are follow-up measures to the 'Basic Plan for Employment Stability during Industrial Transition' announced by the government last July. MOEL is pursuing the development of an AI Exposure Index to quantify and visualize the industry-specific impact of AI, and a Korean-style Canary Dashboard to provide early warnings by industry and age group regarding the introduction of AI. Currently, research services for the development are being prepared, with the goal of completion by 2027.
MOEL explained, "We organized a contest to rename the two indicators that will play important roles in a way that meets the public's expectations," adding, "The purpose is to find names together with the public that anyone can easily understand and relate to, rather than using technical jargon."
Anyone in the nation can participate in the contest. Simply propose a new name that suits the two names, along with its meaning.
The names proposed by the participants will undergo a first round of screening and a second round of expert evaluation, resulting in the selection of 55 entries for each phrase and a total of 110 entries.
The winning entry is scheduled to be announced on the websites of MOEL and KEIS in October. Selected individuals will be notified separately, and the final selected name will be used for the production of content for public interest and promotion in the future.
An official from KEIS stated, "We hope to widely gather creative ideas from the public through this contest and discover a name that is easy for everyone to understand."
