Daegu Metropolitan Council to Hold Personnel Hearing for Nominee for President of Daegu Urban Development Corporation

Daegu Metropolitan Council will hold a meeting of the Special Committee on Personnel Hearing for Lee Jae-yong, the nominee for president of the Daegu Urban Development Corporation, at 10 a.m. on the 8th in a conference room on the third floor of the Daegu Metropolitan Council building. The committee will comprehensively assess his qualifications and ability to perform the duties of a public corporation president, including his management ability, expertise and morality.
During the personnel hearing, the committee plans to closely examine the nominee’s policy views on major issues facing the Daegu Urban Development Corporation and its future management direction.
In particular, it will assess from the citizens’ perspective whether he has the ability to lead the organization stably as the head of a leading regional public corporation and contribute to regional development and the improvement of citizens’ housing welfare.

Following a request from Daegu Metropolitan City on August 31 for a personnel hearing on its nominee for president of the Daegu Urban Development Corporation, Daegu Metropolitan Council formed a 10-member Special Committee on Personnel Hearing, comprising seven members of the Construction and Transportation Committee and three recommended by the council speaker. The council has prepared for the hearing by requesting various materials needed for the personnel review and holding preliminary meetings.
Earlier, the special committee held a preliminary meeting on the 2nd to discuss the detailed schedule and procedures for the personnel hearing and review materials concerning major issues at the Daegu Urban Development Corporation and the nominee. The members also agreed to focus on assessing the management ability, morality and ability to perform the duties required of the head of a local public corporation, rather than raising unfounded allegations or attempting to discredit the nominee. Meanwhile, after the hearing on the 8th, the second meeting of the Special Committee on Personnel Hearing is scheduled for the 9th to adopt the progress report.
