This promotion week is a series of events held under the theme “A 100-Year-Old City Opened by Artificial Intelligence (AI): Busan, a Global Age-Tech Hub.” Its programs are designed to introduce AI-based age-tech companies’ technologies and services to actual senior-care sites and expand opportunities for demonstrations and business cooperation between companies and demand organizations.
The program will consist of age-tech company technology pitches and one-on-one meetups between age-tech demand organizations and suppliers. Beginning on the morning of the 11th, the “Age-Tech Company Technology Pitch” for demand organizations will be held at the Agora venue in Exhibition Hall 1 of BEXCO.
Five supplier companies—WIRobotics, Reben Grida, ZeroWeb, Paint Farm, and Safeware—will participate in the pitches. Each company will give a 10-minute presentation to representatives of senior-care sites on its key technologies and services, as well as their potential for on-site application.
From the afternoon, the “Age-Tech Demand Organization and Supplier One-on-One Meetup” will take place in the domestic and international buyer consultation area of Exhibition Hall 1 at BEXCO. A total of 16 organizations, including senior housing providers, marine tourism operators, senior welfare organizations, and public institutions, will participate.
The organizers will first identify the technologies of interest and demonstration needs of companies and demand organizations, then use the PSA advance business-matching system to match consultation partners. On-site, companies and demand organizations will hold one-on-one consultations lasting 30 minutes each.
Through the program, participating companies will be able to go beyond simply introducing their products and services and gain a concrete understanding of the technologies and services needed by demand organizations in the field. This is expected to lead to practical discussions on identifying new AI demonstration projects and pursuing follow-up business cooperation.
Lee Jae-deok, acting director of the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, said, “Through these company technology pitches and demand-organization meetups, we aim to expand our support for age-tech companies from exhibitions that simply showcase technologies to demonstrations connected to on-site demand.” He added, “The agency will also support the establishment of lasting partnerships between companies and diverse demand organizations so that Busan can become Korea’s leading test bed for demonstrating and commercializing age-tech technologies.”
