[Financial News] Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water) supports companies' RE100 implementation by utilizing water energy such as small hydropower, tidal power, and floating solar power.
K-water announced on the 7th that it will hold the '2026 K-water WE100+ Insight Day' at the International Conference Hall of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in Seoul on October 6, and will support national tasks such as helping companies secure clean power, fostering advanced strategic industries, and achieving carbon neutrality.
'WE100+' is an in-house slogan by K-water that embodies the meaning of supporting companies in achieving RE100 using its own clean water energy. RE100 refers to meeting all of a company's electricity needs with renewable energy.
K-water explained that demand for clean electricity is growing, centered on advanced industries such as artificial intelligence data centers (AIDC) and semiconductors. It also assessed that the need for companies to secure renewable energy is increasing in response to tightening global trade regulations.
Accordingly, K-water plans to support companies in stably securing renewable energy by linking water resource-based power generation facilities, such as small hydropower, tidal power, and floating solar power, with direct power trading methods.
The event will be held in two sections. Part 1 will feature a keynote presentation sharing K-water's achievements in RE100 and covering the role of water energy in national energy policy. K-water became the first company in Korea to achieve Global RE100 last May.
Part 2 introduces global RE100 trends and implementation cases from the industry. It also provides explanations on the direct electricity trading system and new bidding processes to help companies utilize them in their actual business operations.
K-water plans to support the implementation of RE100 by domestic industries, including export companies, by expanding the supply of water-energy-based renewable energy and related institutional support in the future.
Pre-registration is available until the 23rd via the access path indicated on the event information poster. Seats will be allocated preferentially to pre-registered attendees, and on-site entry will also be available on the day of the event if seats remain.
