[Financial News] A man in his 50s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of illegally filming teenage girls at the Seoul International Fireworks Festival.
The Seoul Yeongdeungpo Police Station said on the 7th that it had booked and was investigating Mr. A, a man in his 50s, on suspicion of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (filming using a camera or other device).
Mr. A is accused of secretly filming the bodies of two teenage girls with his mobile phone at the Seoul International Fireworks Festival, held at Yeouido Hangang Park at around 4:40 p.m. on the 5th.
Police officers dispatched after a citizen at the scene reported him arrested Mr. A in the act. At the time of his arrest, he was wearing a location-tracking electronic device (electronic ankle monitor).
However, it has not yet been disclosed what crime led to Mr. A being fitted with the electronic ankle monitor.
Mr. A reportedly denied the allegations during police questioning. Police sought an arrest warrant for him, but prosecutors rejected the request.
Police plan to investigate whether Mr. A committed any additional offenses through a forensic examination of his mobile phone and other measures.
