35 Disaster and Safety Companies Set to Target Vietnam’s Public Procurement Market

[Financial News]  Thirty-five Korean disaster and safety companies are set to target Vietnam’s public procurement market.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS) said on the 7th that it will operate a unified Korea pavilion for disaster and safety companies at Secutech Vietnam 2026, which will be held from the 9th to the 12th at the Hanoi Friendship Cultural Palace in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Secutech Vietnam is the country’s largest business-to-business (B2B) exhibition covering firefighting, disaster safety, security, and industrial safety. About 480 companies are expected to participate this year, with approximately 16,000 buyers and visitors expected to attend. MOIS expects Korean companies to have greater opportunities to enter the market targeting Vietnam’s central government and public institutions, as the event’s venue has moved from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi starting this year.
Last year, MOIS operated a unified Korea pavilion at the exhibition for the first time, supporting 25 Korean disaster and safety companies in entering overseas markets. At the time, a purchase contract worth approximately 8.5 billion won was signed for an unmanned destructive firefighting water cannon vehicle.
This year, MOIS worked with Gyeonggi Province, South Chungcheong Province, and the Korea Fire Institute to increase the number of participating companies to 35. The companies will showcase disaster and safety products and technologies, including AI-based disaster forecasting and warning systems and specialized fire engines.
During the exhibition, MOIS will invite local buyers and investors to hold one-on-one business consultations with Korean companies. It will also provide follow-up support so that consultations can lead to memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and actual contracts, depending on the needs of each company.
MOIS will also hold a market-entry strategy briefing for participating companies, sharing information on the characteristics of the Vietnamese market and know-how for entering it. At a new purchasing and investment briefing this year, the ministry plans to focus on introducing Korean companies’ technologies and products to officials from Vietnamese public institutions and businesses.
Park Hyung-bae, Director General of the Office of Safety Prevention Policy at MOIS, said, "We hope that operating this unified Korea pavilion will serve as an opportunity to showcase the outstanding technologies and products of Korean disaster and safety companies to the Vietnamese government and public institutions and expand their access to the public procurement market."
