Korea Authority of Land & Infrastructure Safety Supports Recovery in Tongyeong Fishing Village Hit by Torrential Rain

[Financial News] The Korea Authority of Land & Infrastructure Safety supported flood-recovery work in Gung-hang Fishing Village in Tongyeong-si, South Gyeongsang Province, which was damaged by torrential rain.
The Korea Authority of Land & Infrastructure Safety said on the 7th that its employees supported flood-recovery activities in and around the village over two days, from the 3rd to the 4th, including removing mud, sediment, and debris that had flowed into Gung-hang Fishing Village.
Gung-hang Fishing Village was damaged by more than 750 mm of torrential rain last month, which caused mud to pour down and old trees to break.
After the flood-recovery work, an event was held at the village pier to release young black porgy. The release was carried out to increase fishery resources, maintain balance in the marine ecosystem, boost fishermen’s incomes, and attract tourists.
Employees also visited Tongyeong Jungang Traditional Market and purchased local specialties, helping support the weakened local economy.
Director Park Chang-geun said, "We plan to continue carrying out activities to promote mutual growth with local communities."
