‘I Am Solo’ PD Nam Gyu-hong to Explore Contract Marriage in New Reality Show About ‘Experiencing Married Life’

[Financial News] PD Nam Gyu-hong is launching a new reality program centered on marriage.
Nam Gyu-hong’s “Contract Marriage,” presented through MBC every1 and KBS Joy, is a marriage-simulation reality observation program. It follows men and women who want to marry as they enter contractual relationships, experience life as married couples, and explore whether their relationships can lead to actual marriage.
While existing dating reality shows focus on contestants’ meetings, mutual interest and final choices, “Contract Marriage” places greater emphasis on life after marriage. The contestants will live together in relationships formed through contracts, allowing them to learn about each other’s lifestyles and values.
The program will show how the contestants respond to realistic issues that are not easily revealed during the dating process. Because the relationships are based on the prospect of actual marriage, their choices and conflicts may unfold differently from those in conventional dating reality shows.
This joint production by MBC every1 and KBS Joy combines the broadcasters’ experience producing observation-based and dating-related entertainment programs with Nam Gyu-hong’s directing style.
The key question will be whether relationships that begin with contracts can develop into real marriages—or whether the contestants will make different choices as they live together.
