[Financial News] U.S. President Donald Trump posted a series of images on Truth Social highlighting Iran’s economic woes.
On the 6th, local time, President Trump posted a photo of fighter jets bombing an island with oil storage facilities and tankers anchored offshore. The image, believed to have been generated by artificial intelligence (AI), carried the caption, “Goodbye, Kharg.” Kharg Island is Iran’s hub for overseas crude oil exports and has been cited as a likely landing site if the United States deploys ground troops.

Before posting the image of the bombing of Kharg Island, President Trump also posted two graphs showing the value of Iran’s currency.
One graph carried the caption, “Iran’s currency has been destroyed.” It showed that the currency’s value, which stood at approximately $1.30 per 1 million rials early last year, had fallen to below 30 cents per 1 million rials by the end of last month.
Another graph was captioned, “Iran hyperinflation.” It showed that the exchange rate, which stood at 700,000 rials to the dollar early last year, had surged to 2 million rials by the end of last month.
In addition, President Trump posted a graph showing that Iran’s crude oil exports had fallen from 2 million barrels per day in the first quarter of last year to less than 500,000 barrels per day currently.
He also posted an image of a map of Iran bearing the caption, “Iran is a failing country.”
