Jang Dong-hyuk: "The Reckless Drive Further Left Will End in the Collapse of the Administration... The Cabinet Reshuffle Must Be Withdrawn in Full"

[Financial News] People Power Party leader Jang Dong-hyuk criticized the reshuffle on the 7th, saying, "This cabinet reshuffle is tantamount to President Lee Jae Myung declaring that he has given up on the people. It means he wants to become the head of the left, not the president of the people." He called for the complete withdrawal of the reshuffle, including the nominations of Kim Seung-won for minister of the Ministry of Justice and Yong Hye-in for minister of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.
At a Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea that day, Jang said, "Every policy President Lee puts forward has failed spectacularly, and his personnel appointments have failed as well. It seems he has decided to give up on everything and take care of only the left."
He noted, "The president's answer to the plunge in approval ratings was to move further left. He invited the leaders of the two major labor federations to Cheong Wa Dae and gave them the gift of extending the retirement age. He also gathered activists from left-wing civic groups and declared, 'I will create the world you want.' When told to declare that he would not seek another term, he replied, 'Do I really have to say that I will not steal?' Since people would not believe him even if he made such a declaration, it would make little difference whether he did or did not—but in the end, he will not say it."
Jang launched another attack, saying, "He drove out Lee Seok-yeon, chairman of the Presidential Committee of National Cohesion, who had advised the president to become everyone's president. In the end, it means he does not even want to listen to voices from the right. The reckless drive further left will end in the collapse of the administration."
He also claimed that Kim Hyun-ji, the first deputy chief of staff at Cheong Wa Dae, controls personnel appointments there. Regarding allegations involving nominees Kim Seung-won and Yong Hye-in, he raised his voice, saying, "It is astonishing that, no matter how they chose, they managed to select only people like this. We must thoroughly determine whether Kim Hyun-ji, the first deputy chief of staff at Cheong Wa Dae—'the person who handles everything through Hyun'—also steamrolled the personnel vetting process."
He further urged, "If you fill the Cabinet with people like these, the outcome is obvious: hell for people's livelihoods. None of them is even qualified to sit at a confirmation hearing. The nominations of Kim Seung-won as minister of the Ministry of Justice and Yong Hye-in as minister of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family must be withdrawn, and the cabinet reshuffle itself must be canceled in full."
