[Financial News] COOCON, a business data platform company, announced on the 7th that it had completed the Credit Counseling and Recovery Service (CCRS)’s financial-sector MyData implementation project and established an environment for using financial MyData at counseling desks across 52 branches nationwide.
This project marks the first application of financial MyData in the public sector. CCRS can now provide MyData services through in-person channels as well as non-face-to-face channels, allowing digitally vulnerable groups to conveniently use their financial information at counseling desks.
As the project’s main operator, COOCON implemented its “MyData All-in-One” solution to establish an in-person MyData system covering the process from identity verification to requests for and retrieval of financial information. The solution integrates the functions required to operate MyData services, including data connections with more than 450 institutions, such as financial institutions and big tech companies; MyData collection APIs; integrated management of identity verification and personal credit information transmission-request APIs; and usage monitoring.
As a result, customers visiting CCRS can reduce the burden of submitting complicated supporting documents and retrieve, in one place at a counseling desk, financial information scattered across multiple financial institutions. Counselors are also expected to work more efficiently, as they can provide faster and more accurate debt-adjustment counseling and reviews based on the financial information customers have consented to transmit.
The scope of financial MyData is expanding from non-face-to-face services to in-person channels. After the Financial Services Commission (FSC) announced its “MyData 2.0 Implementation Plan” in 2024 and expanded service channels to bank branches in November 2025, demand for financial MyData adoption is expected to grow, particularly among public institutions that support low-income and vulnerable groups through in-person counseling. COOCON plans to actively respond to this demand, drawing on its financial-sector MyData implementation capabilities and experience applying the service in the public sector.
COOCON CEO Kim Jong-hyun said, “COOCON will contribute to closing the information gap for financially vulnerable groups and improving financial access by leveraging its data-connectivity capabilities and MyData expertise accumulated in the financial and public sectors. We will further expand our MyData business into nonfinancial sectors, including telecommunications, healthcare, energy, education and employment, strengthen our leading position, and take the lead in creating an ecosystem that connects diverse industries and services through data.”
