Sky Labs Discloses Clinical Data on Cuffless Blood Pressure Monitor at ESC

[Financial News] Sky Labs disclosed clinical data on its cuffless blood pressure monitor, CART, at ESC Congress 2026, the annual congress of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), held in Munich, Germany, from the 28th to the 31st of last month. ESC Congress is an international academic conference attended by medical professionals and researchers in cardiovascular medicine from around the world.
Sky Labs announced on the 7th that it presented the results of five studies involving CART at the congress. The company introduced a range of clinical data, including results from 24-hour blood pressure monitoring in patients with atrial fibrillation and heart failure, as well as blood pressure changes in patients with sleep apnea.
Professor Lee Ki-hong of Chonnam National University Hospital presented the results of a study using CART to monitor blood pressure for 24 hours in patients with atrial fibrillation. The study achieved a valid-data analysis rate of approximately 80% and observed patterns that are difficult to identify with conventional blood pressure measurement methods, including nighttime blood pressure declines.
Professor Inchul Kim of Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital compared CART with a conventional cuff-based 24-hour blood pressure monitor in patients with severe heart failure. The study participants had an average left ventricular ejection fraction of 29%, and Kim explained that CART met the accuracy criteria of the European Society of Hypertension (ESH).
Professor Lee Hye-young of Seoul National University Hospital presented the results of an accuracy validation based on ESH criteria. Professor Lee Eun-mi of Dongguk University Ilsan Hospital presented a case examining the effects of pain and stress caused by wearing a cuff on medication adherence. Professor Jong-Chan Youn of The Catholic University of Korea, Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital analyzed approximately 12,000 respiratory events in 62 patients with sleep apnea and described a temporary rise in blood pressure immediately after breathing recovered.
CART is a ring-shaped device worn on the finger that uses optical sensors, or photoplethysmography (PPG), and artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Unlike conventional blood pressure monitors, it measures blood pressure for 24 hours without compressing the arm with a cuff.
Sky Labs is expanding the use of CART at medical institutions in South Korea and abroad. According to the company, CART is currently prescribed at more than 2,000 hospitals and clinics, while the cumulative number of prescriptions issued outside hospitals has surpassed 300,000.
Sky Labs CEO Lee Byung-hwan said, "At ESC, we confirmed CART’s potential through various clinical studies. We will expand its use beyond hypertension management to cardiovascular conditions such as atrial fibrillation and heart failure, while accelerating our efforts to enter global markets."
