[Financial News] CJ Logistics has maintained the international compliance management certification it became the first company in the logistics industry to obtain for six consecutive years.
CJ Logistics said on the 7th that it had passed the second follow-up audit for the ISO 37301 Compliance Management Systems international standard, overseen by the Korea Compliance Institute.
ISO 37301 is an international standard on compliance management established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It assesses whether a company has policies and management systems in place to comply with relevant laws and internal ethical rules, and whether those systems are properly implemented in its actual operations. After initial certification, companies must undergo follow-up audits every year and renewal audits every three years.
CJ Logistics provides compliance training tailored to employees’ positions and job responsibilities. It divides training programs by rank and role, including new employees, promoted employees, newly appointed leaders and executives, and covers regulations closely related to their work, such as the Subcontracting Act, the Fair Trade Act and the Personal Information Protection Act.
The company also regularly publishes an internal newsletter, Compliance Gazette, so employees can check legal and regulatory changes at any time. It contains the latest court precedents and major regulatory trends. CJ Logistics also operates a Compliance Coordinator program, which reviews the status of compliance controls in each department and identifies potential risks.
Jang Yun-seok, head of the legal affairs office at CJ Logistics, said, "Maintaining the certification for six consecutive years is the result of continuously reviewing and improving our compliance management system in line with international standards." He added, "We will enhance the effectiveness of our compliance system so that compliance management can be practiced in everyday business operations."
