[Financial News] The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT) announced on the 7th that it had held working-level consultations with policy-based financial institutions in Poland and Thailand.
KODIT held the second Poland working-level consultation from the 24th to the 28th of last month, followed by the 20th Thailand working-level consultation from the 31st of last month to the 4th of this month.
The Poland working-level consultation was organized as part of a memorandum of understanding signed last year with Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) to exchange knowledge in the field of guarantees. Established in 1924, BGK is Poland’s only state-owned bank. A delegation led by Marta Postuwa, senior executive vice president, attended the consultation. The two institutions shared updates on their major businesses and credit guarantee systems, followed by in-depth presentations and discussions on risk management, digital transformation, and financing for innovative startups. In particular, during a meeting between the delegations’ heads, they exchanged views on the increasingly close economic cooperation framework between Korea and Poland, as well as ways to develop cooperation between the two institutions.
At the working-level consultation with the Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG), KODIT introduced the 50-year history of credit guarantees since its establishment, along with examples of AI- and data-based financial innovation, drawing considerable interest from the delegation. TCG is a public financial institution under Thailand’s Ministry of Finance. Since 2004, it has closely shared expertise related to corporate financial support in both countries with KODIT through regular working-level consultations.
Meanwhile, the BGK and TCG delegations visited NEST Gwangjin, a startup-focused incubation space, and Kredium, an education and public relations center, to observe on-site efforts to support the growth of innovative startups.
