[Financial News] Dunamu, which operates the virtual-asset exchange Upbit, encouraged the national team athletes participating in the Asian Games.
According to the virtual-asset industry on the 4th, Dunamu attended the ceremony marking the launch of the national team delegation at the Jincheon National Athletes' Village on the 3rd. The event was held to encourage Team Korea ahead of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, which open on the 19th.
Dunamu gave the national team athletes cheering cards featuring six messages: confidence, focus, challenge, teamwork, enjoyment and luck. Each card contained Bitcoin worth 10,000 won.
Lee Ye-rin, a member of the national canoe team who attended the event, chose “enjoyment” from among the messages. She said, "The message, ‘I will be able to enjoy myself in my own way on the biggest stage,’ resonated most with how I feel as I prepare for this competition." She added, "I think I will be able to show the skills I have prepared even better if I approach the event with the mindset of enjoying the competition rather than feeling nervous. I will do my best during the remaining preparation period and repay your support with a strong performance."
An Upbit representative said, "We hope the Team Korea athletes will freely showcase the skills they have worked to develop at the Asian Games." The representative added, "Upbit will also continue its challenge toward the global stage and support Team Korea in its own way."
Dunamu has continued supporting the national team athletes since signing an official partnership sponsorship agreement with the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC) in October last year. In February, it sponsored Bitcoin worth 100 million won for the Korean delegation competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
