【Financial News, Nice, France = Reporter Seong Seok-woo】President Lee Jae Myung arrived in Nice, a city in southern France, on the 6th local time and began a five-day, three-night state visit.
The Air Force One carrying President Lee and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung arrived at Nice Côte d’Azur Airport in Nice, France, that afternoon.
On the following day, the 7th, President Lee is scheduled to attend the Lumière Summit in Saint Paul de Vence as co-chair with President Emmanuel Macron. For two days starting on the 8th, President Lee will move to the capital, Paris, to carry out his schedule. He will first have a one-on-one luncheon with President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace, followed by a summit meeting with delegations from both countries. The talks will cover cooperation in advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, space and nuclear energy. Views on the deployment of troops to the Strait of Hormuz are also expected to be exchanged.
President Lee will then attend a Korea-France business roundtable involving about 20 companies from the two countries. A state dinner hosted by President Macron and his wife is also scheduled for that evening.
On the final day of the state-visit schedule, the 9th, President Lee will meet with Yaël Braun-Pivet, president of the National Assembly of France. He is also scheduled to attend a luncheon meeting with Korean residents in France and meet Mathias Cormann, secretary-general of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
