[Financial News]  Most of the country, including Seoul and the Capital Metropolitan Area, is expected to remain mostly clear on Sunday, the 6th. However, some areas of Gangwon State’s east coast and mountainous regions, the Gyeongsang region, and Jeju Island will be cloudy and receive rain.
Rain will continue mainly along the east coast and on Jeju Island. Rain is expected today in Gangwon State’s east coast and mountainous areas, North Gyeongsang Province’s northern east coast and northeastern mountainous areas, and Jeju Island. Some areas along North Gyeongsang Province’s southern east coast, Busan, Ulsan, eastern inland areas of South Gyeongsang Province, and the western southern coast of South Gyeongsang Province may also receive rain through 6 p.m. Some parts of inland Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, as well as central South Gyeongsang Province, may see a few raindrops through the afternoon.
A few raindrops are also expected in Busan, Ulsan, and eastern inland areas of South Gyeongsang Province from tonight through the morning of the 7th.
Through the 7th, expected precipitation is 5–10 mm along Gangwon State’s east coast and in its mountainous areas, and 5–10 mm along the east coast and in the northeastern mountainous areas of North Gyeongsang Province. Jeju Island is expected to receive 10–40 mm in mountainous and mid-mountain areas and 5–10 mm along the coast. Busan, Ulsan, and eastern inland areas of South Gyeongsang Province are expected to receive less than 5 mm today.
Daytime highs in major cities are expected to reach 29°C in Seoul and Incheon, and 28°C in Suwon and Paju. Chuncheon will reach 27°C, Gangneung 26°C, Cheongju and Daejeon 28°C, Jeonju 29°C, and Gwangju and Mokpo 30°C. Daegu and Andong will reach 27°C, Busan and Changwon 28°C, Ulsan 26°C, Jeju 27°C, and Seogwipo 29°C.
People should be especially cautious of strong winds and high waves today. Strong wind advisories are currently in effect for Yeosu, Goheung County, and Wando in South Jeolla Province, as well as Geomundo Island, Chodo Island, and Jeju Island. In some coastal areas and on Jeju Island, wind gusts may exceed 70 km/h, while mountainous areas could see exceptionally strong gusts of more than 90 km/h.
In most other parts of the country, wind gusts of around 55 km/h are expected through the 7th, with mountainous areas seeing gusts of around 70 km/h. Strong winds could also disrupt aircraft operations.
High waves are also expected mainly in the southern and Jeju Island seas and the East Sea. Winds will be very strong, reaching 30–70 km/h, and waves will rise to 2–4 meters, particularly in the southern East Sea, eastern South Sea, and waters around Jeju Island. Waves in the southern offshore waters of Jeju Island and the eastern offshore waters of the South Sea could reach more than 5 meters.
Strong swells are expected to continue affecting the coasts of the East Sea, the southern coast of South Gyeongsang Province, and Jeju Island for the time being. High waves may overtop coastal rocks and breakwaters, so caution is advised when visiting coastal areas or fishing.
Some mountainous areas of Gangwon State may experience dense fog, with visibility falling below 200 meters due to easterly winds. Visibility may also be reduced and roads may become slippery in areas receiving rain.
