“A Donation Race Made Possible by 7,000 Participants”: KakaoBank Holds Eco-Friendly Marathon in Yeouido

[Financial News] KakaoBank announced on the 6th that it will hold the eco-friendly charity marathon “Save Race 2026” with UNICEF Korea to help future generations facing difficulties due to the climate crisis. KakaoBank plans to donate the full participation fees paid by all 7,000 participants.
Save Race is KakaoBank’s signature charity marathon, now in its third year. This year’s event will feature a single 10-kilometer course starting on November 7 at the Culture Plaza of Yeouido Park in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The 50,000-won participation fee paid by each of the 7,000 participants will be donated in the participant’s name. The total donation of 350 million won will be used through UNICEF Korea to support children and adolescents affected by the climate crisis in East Asia and the Pacific.
Applications can be submitted from 10 a.m. on the 7th through 5 p.m. on the 18th on the “Save Race 2026” event page in the KakaoBank app.
The number of participants is 7,000, an increase of 2,000 from last year. Group applications through “Group Accounts” are also available. When the group account manager applies, two to five group members can participate together. Applicants can check whether they were selected on the official Save Race website and in the KakaoBank app on the 30th.
Save Race will be operated in an eco-friendly manner to promote environmental protection. All participants will receive six types of merchandise, including a T-shirt and eco-bag made with yarn recycled from discarded PET bottles, a windbreaker, running belt, socks, and a Chunsik key ring. Reusable-cup water stations will be installed at the venue, along with interactive programs such as a climate crisis quiz.
Meanwhile, KakaoBank has continued its partnership with UNICEF since 2024. In 2024, it donated 1 billion won to UNICEF Korea to help address the global climate crisis. Last year, it donated a total of 1.3 billion won to support climate change education and improvements to eco-friendly infrastructure for children and adolescents in Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia.
