AI Elementary Math 'Tok Tok! Math Explorers' Used by 5,051 Schools and 620,000 People Nationwide

[Financial News] 'Tok Tok! Math Explorers,' which supports elementary math learning tailored to individual students' levels using artificial intelligence (AI), is currently being utilized in 5,051 elementary schools nationwide. With approximately 628,000 student users and 39,000 teachers, the total number of users reaches approximately 667,000. According to the Ministry of Education and the Korea Education & Research Information Service (KERIS) on the 6th, the two organizations will hold a short-form contest from the 7th to October 12th to discover and share excellent teaching examples using 'Tok Tok! Math Explorers' in schools.
'Tok Tok! Math Explorers' launched its service in early 2020 for first- and second-grade elementary school students. Since then, the target grades have been gradually expanded, and currently, all grades from first to sixth are using the service. The Ministry of Education and KERIS are also pushing for the advancement of AI capabilities, such as continuously refining algorithms for learning diagnosis and analysis, as well as personalized content recommendations.
The contest is divided into two categories: 'Incumbent Teachers,' targeting elementary school educators, and 'Prospective Teachers,' for students enrolled in teacher training universities. Incumbent teachers should create videos showcasing lesson examples utilizing the service content, changes in student participation and learning, and creative lesson design methods. Prospective teachers should produce promotional videos highlighting the service's key functions and features, or videos proposing utilization ideas tailored to the actual school environment.
Submitted videos will undergo expert evaluation, and a total of 12 teams—six from each category—will be selected for awards. The Grand Prize winner in each category will receive the Minister of Education Award and 1 million won in prize money, while two Top Excellence Award winners will each receive 500,000 won, and three Excellence Award winners will each receive 300,000 won. Additionally, 100 participants who meet the eligibility requirements—50 from each category—will be selected via lottery to receive a Participation Award. The final winning entries will be introduced and the awards ceremony will be held on November 26.
Kim Young-jin, Director General of School Policy at the Ministry of Education, stated, "'Tok Tok! Math Explorers' is a learning support service that has grown alongside the ideas and efforts of teachers in the field," adding, "We hope that this contest will serve as an opportunity to widely share various practical applications and enhance the understanding of EdTech-based math classes among current and prospective teachers."
