"Entertainment Created by Citizens": Bukjeokbukjeok Festival Season 2 Opens in Chuncheon on the 12th and 13th

According to Chuncheon City on the 6th, Bukjeokbukjeok Festival Season 2 will be held at the Sangsang Eoullim Center from the 12th to the 13th. The event was organized as a cultural program created and enjoyed by citizens. It aims to bring vitality to the Sangsang Eoullim Center and share the appeal of the old downtown and the value of urban regeneration with residents.
On the 12th, the festival will run a traveling Youth Eoullim Madang in cooperation with the Chuncheon Youth Training Center. Alongside performances prepared by teenagers, visitors can take part in various activities, including making key rings, slime and pop-up books. On the 13th, citizen activity programs will continue, operated directly by participants in the “Learning and Enrichment” community cultural arts education program. Visitors can enjoy everyday cultural activities such as personal color consultations, terrarium making and flower arranging.
Acrobatics and magic performances linked to the Chuncheon Theater Festival, as well as a Niche Concert featuring local performance groups, will offer visitors something different to see. An exhibition on Chuncheon’s urban regeneration and an urban-records experience program will also be held. The programs introduce local stories uncovered by the Citizen Records Group and allow residents to look back together on the memories and changes embedded in Chuncheon’s spaces.
Kim Seong-won, head of Chuncheon City’s Urban Regeneration Division, said, "This is an opportunity to discover new attractions in the old downtown through programs created directly by citizens, from youth performances and community cultural activities to an urban regeneration exhibition." He added, "We will prepare a variety of programs so that the Sangsang Eoullim Center becomes a space where citizens’ daily lives and culture naturally come together."
