Korea Transportation Safety Authority Holds “Accident-Free Today” Campaign

[Financial News] The Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS) is promoting a culture of safety through its accident-free campaign.
TS announced that it had launched the nationwide tour campaign, “Accident-Free Today,” at Yeosu Expo station the previous day as part of a government-wide effort to spread traffic safety culture.
The campaign is designed to encourage safety practices in people’s daily lives. It promotes safety rules at major transportation hubs, tourist destinations, and local festivals nationwide while conveying the message of spending the day without accidents.
In particular, the campaign provides tourists visiting Yeosu for the 2026 Yeosu World Island Exhibition, which began the previous day, with traffic safety guidance and encourages them to put the rules into practice during their journeys.
In cooperation with Yeosu, TS is also introducing the 2026 Yeosu World Island Exhibition and running an online “Accident-Free Today” campaign so that more people can visit safely.
TS set up activity areas so anyone using the facilities could participate in the campaign and introduced key safety rules, including: mandatory breaks on long-distance trips, such as using rest areas or drowsiness shelters after two hours of driving; mandatory pre-trip inspections, including checking tire pressure and wear, coolant, and engine oil; and extra caution when driving at night, such as turning on headlights before sunset and maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.
Yong-Sik Jung, president of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, said, “The campaign is meaningful because the first step toward the successful hosting of the 2026 Yeosu World Island Exhibition is ensuring that all domestic and international visitors travel to and from the exhibition safely.” He added, “TS will continue to do its utmost to spread a culture of safety at transportation hubs nationwide so that each and every citizen’s commitment to traffic safety can lead to an accident-free day.”
