Busan Metropolitan City Government to Help People with Severe Mobility Disabilities Visit Their Hometowns During Chuseok with Duribal Support

[Financial News] Busan Metropolitan City Government announced on the 6th that it will launch the “Duribal Hometown Visit Support Program” for people with severe mobility disabilities who have difficulty visiting their hometowns by public transportation during the Chuseok holiday.
Duribal is an essential means of transportation for people with severe mobility disabilities, as it is equipped with ramps and lifts for wheelchair access. The service operates with support from the Lottery Fund.
The temporary program was established to help people visit their hometowns and families during the holiday period. It will operate from the 24th through the 27th.
Applications will be accepted from the 8th through the 17th by phone through the Duribal call center.
The program is available to people with severe mobility disabilities who use wheelchairs. Five people will be supported each day, for a total of 20 people.
Service areas include South Gyeongsang Province, Ulsan, Gyeongju in North Gyeongsang Province, and Cheongdo County, excluding Busan. If applications exceed capacity, final recipients will be selected based on factors such as the need for long-distance travel and the degree of difficulty using public transportation.
Users may apply for a round trip or a one-way trip, depending on their departure and return schedules, during the support period. For a same-day round trip, the maximum stay in the hometown is two hours, after which the vehicle will wait locally before providing the return service.
The service is free, but users must pay tolls when using expressways and other toll roads.
