[Financial News] "Thinking back to 10 years ago, I took the stage with the mindset that I was debuting again. What hasn't changed then or now is the excitement I feel on my way to meet you." Singer Lim Young-woong, who is celebrating his 10th debut anniversary this year, has now become an established artist. Time changes everything, but neither Hero Generation's devotion nor Lim Young-woong's affection for Hero Generation has changed.
On the 5th, the second day of Lim Young-woong's concert “IM HERO - THE STADIUM 2” was held at Goyang Stadium in Gyeonggi Province. When Lim Young-woong appeared onstage and sang his debut song “I Hate You” as the opening number, the entire audience at Goyang Stadium was bathed in sky-blue light.
Lim Young-woong's concert began on the 4th and runs through the 6th. It reportedly drew approximately 95,000 spectators over three days. Following his 2024 concert at Seoul World Cup Stadium, this is Lim Young-woong's second stadium-scale performance. It also commemorates the 10th anniversary of Lim Young-woong's 2016 debut.
When Lim Young-woong announced, "This is the year of my 10th debut anniversary," Hero Generation responded with thunderous cheers.
He explained, "I feel honored and happy to be able to spend this special day in this special place with all of you, who are more special than anyone else," adding, "With that meaning in mind, I chose my debut song, 'I Hate You,' as the opening number." He continued, "The weather is incredible. It's so refreshing," and added, "After yesterday's opening performance, my voice has fully warmed up. I'm going to sing like crazy today. With this great condition, I can perform every song from my new album."
That day, Lim Young-woong performed not only previous hits such as “Love Always Runs Away,” “Grain of Sand,” “Make the Moment Eternal,” and “Will We Be Able to Meet Again?” but also all 10 songs from his special digital album “IM HERO 10,” which will be released on the 8th.
In particular, he performed choreography with his dancers during “Rainbow” and overwhelmed the venue with his powerful vocals during “Will We Be Able to Meet Again?” He also performed the cover song “Can't Take My Eyes Off You.”
Lim Young-woong greeted fans from an extended stage installed all the way to the back of the ground-level seating so he could get closer to the audience. He said, "I came farther into the stage area so that the audience could see me better," and urged them, "Those of you seated higher up, please be careful and watch the show safely. I know you're excited, but someone could get seriously hurt, so please be careful, stay safe, and look after your health."
He led the concert with ease, saying, "There are no guests at my concerts. If I could invite just one act, I would invite only one team," before adding, "That team is you. Please sing along with me in one voice."
After performing 29 songs over three hours, Lim Young-woong sang passionately through the finale, saying, "How am I going to perform tomorrow?" He then added, "I'll give it everything because today is all I have, and leave tomorrow's worries to tomorrow's Lim Young-woong."
Finally, Lim Young-woong emphasized once again, "It has been 10 years since I first stood before you under the name Lim Young-woong. To some, it may seem like a long time, and to others, like a fleeting moment, but these have been truly precious and grateful days. I want to spend the next 10 years with you as well. I will continue singing hard until the day when all of Hero Generation can gather together in one place."
