Hana Financial Group said on the 6th that it signed a memorandum of understanding on the 4th with the Small Enterprise and Market Service and KFME at its Myeongdong headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, to support price stabilization by supplying 'the Good Eggs' to neighborhood supermarkets.
Hana Financial Group established a public-private cooperation framework to help struggling local businesses cope with high prices and sluggish consumption while contributing to consumer price stability.
The 'the Good Eggs Project' selected 20 poultry farms directly and lowered prices by minimizing margins from the production site through intermediate distributors. About 120,000 trays of 'the Good Eggs' are scheduled to be supplied to approximately 4,000 neighborhood supermarkets nationwide. Starting on the 4th, ahead of Chuseok, consumers nationwide can purchase one set containing two trays of eggs, or 60 eggs, for the affordable price of 9,990 won.
Hana Financial Group will provide a win-win contribution and cover the processing costs for washing, inspecting and sorting the eggs, as well as nationwide transportation expenses, to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
The Small Enterprise and Market Service and KFME will promote 'the Good Eggs' widely among small businesses and consumers nationwide. The Small Enterprise and Market Service will establish guidelines for price labeling and fair-trade operations, while supporting public promotion and project management. KFME will secure distribution networks operated by nationwide small and medium-sized supermarket chains among its members and provide on-site support to facilitate the stocking and sale of 'the Good Eggs.'
Immediately after the signing ceremony, Ham Young-joo, chairman of Hana Financial Group, personally visited a supermarket near the Myeongdong headquarters to inspect the 'the Good Eggs' products and preparations for their sale and listen to difficulties at the site.
Ham said, "It is meaningful to be able to provide practical help to small businesses, the roots of the local economy, and consumers through this project with the Small Enterprise and Market Service and KFME. We will continue to carry out inclusive finance by pursuing support programs that contribute to the people's livelihoods and fulfilling our social responsibility as a financial institution."
Meanwhile, Hana Financial Group operates various inclusive-finance programs to support the sustainable growth of small businesses. In June, it launched the 'Hana On, Youth On' project with the Small Enterprise and Market Service to support the growth of young small-business owners and revitalize local commercial districts. It is also continuing initiatives to strengthen small-business competitiveness, provide high-efficiency energy equipment and support digital-transformation equipment.
