[Financial News] President Lee Jae Myung emphasized on the 5th that the government would "expand pathways to a fresh start so that people can rise again without being brought down by a single hardship."
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, that day, President Lee wrote, "The credit scores of 2.928 million people have risen. Some 116,000 people have newly become eligible for bank loans, while 38,000 have gained access to credit cards again."
President Lee said, "These changes were made possible by the 'Credit Recovery Support for Diligent Repayers,' introduced to help people who have quietly continued paying off their debts despite difficult circumstances return to work, reopen their businesses, and resume their daily lives."
He continued, "In life, unexpected difficulties such as illness or accidents can make it impossible to repay debts on time. But a single delinquency should not hold someone back for the rest of their life." He added, "We will build a society where anyone can find hope again if they work diligently and make an honest effort."
President Lee also added, "We will continue expanding a strong 'ladder of opportunity' that enables people to rise again, so that immediate hardships do not become the edge of a cliff in their lives."
