"Trump Envoys to Visit Moscow and Kyiv"... Peace Talks Set to Resume

[Financial News] Donald Trump's envoy Steven Charles Witkoff and the president's eldest son-in-law Jared Kushner are expected to visit Russia and Ukraine in succession this weekend.
The TASS Russian News Agency reported on the 4th, local time, citing sources, that a U.S. delegation led by the two men would visit Moscow, the capital of Russia, and Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, for two days starting on the 5th. Russia's state-run RT broadcaster also reported that the two would visit both countries within days.
Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Russian Kremlin, responded to the reports, saying, "We will not announce anything at this time, but we will inform you if contact takes place." Peskov added, "The United States is highly likely to demand that Ukraine halt terrorist activities."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a statement that day, "I received detailed information from the U.S. president's staff," adding, "Steven Charles Witkoff and Jared Kushner will travel to Kyiv on Sunday (the 6th) after visiting Moscow."
President Zelenskyy added, "Our goal is to make this visit and the talks with the U.S. side as constructive and substantive as possible," and said, "We will see what proposals Steven and Jared bring and what response they receive in Moscow."
U.S. media outlet Axios reported that Envoy Witkoff and Kushner had departed that day, would meet Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on the 5th, and would meet President Zelenskyy in Kyiv the following day.
Envoy Witkoff and Kushner have been mediating peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. They have visited Russia several times but have never visited Ukraine. Axios highlighted that President Trump said that day regarding the envoys' visit, "They will come with a plan to end the war."
Ukraine's daily Kyiv Post predicted, "The main purpose of this visit will likely be efforts to resume three-way talks."
