Seo In-young said, "I devoted myself to dance practice for about a month and a half," adding, "Because I underwent liposuction in the middle of that period, I only had a month and a half to practice."
Seo In-young admitted that her recovery after the procedure was not easy. She said, "I don't think I can ever undergo liposuction again," but added, "I am extremely satisfied with the results." She also described experiencing hypotensive shock after the procedure and having to use a wheelchair at the hospital.


According to the Mayo Clinic, liposuction is a procedure that removes fat from specific areas such as the abdomen, thighs and arms. However, it is difficult to regard it as a way to reduce overall body weight or as a treatment that replaces dietary control and exercise. The recovery process and risks may also vary depending on the treatment area and amount of fat removed, the type of anesthesia and whether the patient has underlying conditions.
Because liposuction is a surgical procedure, it can cause bleeding, anesthesia-related problems, fluid changes, infection, bruising and swelling. The Mayo Clinic explains that the risk of complications may increase when a large area is treated at once or when multiple procedures are performed simultaneously. Hypotensive shock should be distinguished from simple dizziness. According to medical information from Seoul National University Hospital, shock is a condition in which the body does not receive adequate blood circulation because of a severe drop in blood pressure or other causes. Depending on the cause, it may include hypovolemic shock related to bleeding or dehydration and cardiogenic shock caused by impaired heart function. Symptoms may generally include low blood pressure, a rapid pulse, cold and clammy skin, reduced urine output and changes in consciousness.

After liposuction, patients should follow medical guidance regarding compression garments, wound care, changes in bruising and swelling, and the severity of pain. Increasing exercise too aggressively before the body has recovered may worsen dizziness or fatigue. In particular, strenuous practice or exercise while eating less can lead to dehydration and low blood sugar at the same time.
If severe dizziness, cold sweats, difficulty breathing, chest pain, reduced consciousness, pain or swelling in one leg, or bleeding occurs after the procedure, patients should immediately inform their medical team. Medical evaluation is necessary to determine whether the symptoms are simple bruising or swelling or indicate a problem such as infection, a blood clot or fluid loss.
