Soop Secures New Pangyo Headquarters 20 Years After Launch, Strengthening the Foundation for Collaboration and Growth

[Financial News] Soop is establishing a new headquarters in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province, and will gradually consolidate key business hubs that have been dispersed across multiple locations.
Soop announced on the 4th that it had decided to acquire the land and building of GB2-C building, located at 25 Pangyoro 256beon-gil, Bundang District, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province.
The acquisition marks Soop’s effort to establish an integrated business hub about 20 years after it launched its live-streaming service in 2005. As its services and business areas expanded, the workspaces of its management, technology, and business divisions, as well as those of its affiliates, became dispersed across multiple locations. The move is intended to strengthen collaboration among key organizations and improve operational efficiency.
Soop plans to use the acquired building as its headquarters and R&D center. It will gradually relocate the workspaces of its management, technology, and business divisions and key affiliates. The company aims to begin the move in the fourth quarter of this year and complete the reorganization of its business hubs by the first quarter of 2028.
Soop expects decision-making and collaboration to become smoother once the organizational relocation is complete, as the physical distance between divisions that have been spread across multiple locations will be reduced. The company also plans to improve the utilization of its dispersed human and spatial resources and capture synergies through integrated operations.
The company also expects medium- to long-term efficiency gains in terms of costs. Although the acquisition and relocation of the new headquarters may incur one-time expenses, Soop forecasts that it will be able to reduce fixed operating costs, including rent and maintenance expenses, previously incurred across multiple hubs once the organizational relocation is complete. As a result, it also expects to improve cash flow over the medium to long term.
A Soop official said, "The establishment of the new headquarters is a medium- to long-term investment aimed at enhancing collaboration among organizations and enabling us to respond more nimbly to the changing business environment." The official added, "We will ensure a stable move-in and organizational relocation process, strengthen connectivity across the organization, and further enhance our capabilities for technological innovation and business growth."
