[Financial News] Kim Yun-duk, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of South Korea, attended a briefing on North Jeolla Province–Saemangeum R&D (research and development) and pledged support for the newly planned industrial complex.
Minister Kim attended the North Jeolla Province–Saemangeum Land, Infrastructure and Transport R&D briefing held at Jeonbuk National University on the 4th. The event was also attended by Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency Administrator Moon Seong-yo and Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement President Kim Jeong-hee, among others.
The briefing was organized as a follow-up to inquiries raised at a meeting with companies on July 22 about ways for companies in North Jeolla Province to participate in national R&D and demonstration projects.
At the briefing, the Saemangeum Development and Investment Agency introduced the current status of investment in Saemangeum and directions for mutually beneficial cooperation. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport explained this year’s R&D investment priorities, while KAIA outlined participation procedures and corporate support programs, including how local companies and researchers can take part and receive assistance.
Minister Kim stated, "This briefing was organized to keep our promise regarding the requests raised by local companies." He added, "The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will serve as a reliable channel so that the capabilities of outstanding local companies and researchers are not limited by barriers to information."
