[Financial News] TikTok is partnering with North Gyeongsang Province to promote the regional artificial intelligence (AI) and digital content ecosystem. The partnership will support local companies and creators seeking to expand globally, while also extending cooperation to the training of specialized personnel.
TikTok announced that it signed an MOU with North Gyeongsang Province at the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Government on the 3rd to promote the digital content and artificial intelligence industries.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate in four key areas: jointly promoting their events and activities; exchanging and cooperating in AI and digital content; supporting the promotion of local companies through digital platforms; and training professionals in digital content and marketing.
The agreement was signed during the 2026 Gyeongbuk International AI Metaverse Film Festival, held from the 3rd to the 5th in Gumi, Pohang, and Gyeongsan. The festival’s AI video competition received 3,403 entries from 97 countries this year, more than three times the previous year’s scale, as it entered its third edition. In connection with the festival, TikTok also plans to strengthen its role as a major channel through which Korean content reaches users worldwide as a global platform.
Jung Jae-hoon, Head of Operations at TikTok Korea, said, "We will work together to help creators, companies, and future talent from North Gyeongsang Province advance onto a broader global stage."
