Autumn festivals continue across North Jeolla Province

【Financial News Jeonju=Kang In】 Festivals welcoming autumn will continue across North Jeolla Province.
According to Jeonbuk State on the 6th, signature festivals featuring history, culture, nature and local food will be held successively in all 14 cities and counties across the province from this month through late autumn to attract tourists.
The eastern region will kick off the festival season. The Muju Firefly Festival will be held from 9.4 to 9.12, followed by the Jangsu Hanwoo and Apple Festival from 9.10 to 9.13 and the Jinan Red Ginseng Festival from 9.18 to 9.20.
In October, the Gimje Horizon Festival, held from 10.1 to 10.5; the Gunsan Time Travel Festival, from 10.2 to 10.5; the Jeonju Bibimbap Festival, from 10.2 to 10.4; and the Wanju Wild & Local Food Festival, from 10.2 to 10.4, will welcome tourists.
The festivals will continue through late autumn, including the Jeongeup Gujeolcho Flower Festival from 10.8 to 10.18, the Imsil N Cheese Festival from 10.8 to 10.11, the Namwon Heungbu Festival from 10.9 to 10.11, the Sunchang Jangryu Festival from 10.15 to 10.18, the Gochang Moyang Fortress Festival from 10.15 to 10.19, the Buan Red Sunset Festival from 10.16 to 10.18, and the Iksan Ten Million Chrysanthemum Festival from 10.23 to 11.1. Each festival highlights the distinctive character of its region.
Jeonbuk State will strengthen nighttime programs tailored to each region, including late-night theaters, beach parties, firework performances and nighttime landscape lighting, to transform festivals from simple visit-based tourism into stay-oriented tourism. It plans to link the festivals with local tourism resources so visitors can stay longer and enjoy a wider range of content.
For the first time this year, the province will operate the Jeonbuk Tour Bus, connecting festival venues with major nearby tourist attractions. It will also introduce tourism products linked to the Jeonbuk TourPass. The plan is to extend festival visitors’ stays in the region and ensure that their tourism spending helps revitalize local businesses.
A Jeonbuk State official said, "The 14 signature festivals across the province, including the Sunchang Jangryu Festival, which has emerged as a preliminary global festival, are important tourism resources that can showcase Jeonbuk’s diverse flavors and attractions. We will expand stay-oriented content linking the festivals with nearby tourist destinations so that it leads to attracting domestic and international tourists and revitalizing the local economy."
