Gangneung to Implement 86 Campaign Pledges Without Disruption, Focusing Administrative Capacity

【Financial News Gangneung=Kim Ki-seop】Gangneung has reviewed implementation plans for 86 campaign pledge projects from the ninth elected local-government term and begun efforts to carry them out without disruption.
According to Gangneung on the 4th, a briefing on plans to implement the campaign pledge projects was held that day, chaired by Mayor Kim Jungnam and attended by all senior officials. After refining the pledges in June through reviews by the transition committee and working-level officials from each department, the city held two additional briefings in August chaired by the deputy mayor to reassess their feasibility and implementation direction. At this briefing, officials reviewed key issues by department and finalized the annual implementation plans, targets, and large-scale funding measures for the pledges based on those results.
The ninth elected local-government term's pledges consist of 86 projects in five areas: an open city moving forward with citizens (5); a healthy, warm, and safe city (27); a healing city embracing nature (15); a creative city connecting with the world (17); and a young city full of opportunities (22).
Gangneung plans to focus its administrative capacity on ensuring the pledge projects are implemented without disruption by developing strategies to secure national and provincial funding and supplementing detailed implementation road maps. It will review progress quarterly and continue to manage the implementation process. After supplementing the detailed implementation plans based on the review, the city will begin operating a citizen evaluation panel for pledge implementation, composed of citizens and experts, this month to gather feedback, and plans to finalize the pledge projects in October.
Mayor Kim Jungnam said, "Since we have thoroughly reviewed the annual plans and funding arrangements, the most important thing is to implement pledges that citizens can feel changing their daily lives," and urged officials, "Please move the projects forward with a sense of urgency and build an administration that earns the citizens' trust."
