According to the Korea Land and Geospatial InformatiX Corporation (LX) on the 4th, the LX Geospatial Information Academy, operated under the Cadastral Training Institute, was selected as an S-grade joint training center—the highest rating—in the 2026 Best of CHAMP program.
The LX Geospatial Information Academy is a joint training center designated by the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. It was established in 2014 to train practical professionals needed by the geospatial information industry.
The academy operates separate programs to enhance the capabilities of current employees and train prospective employees.
This year, the current employee program offers 28 courses tailored to different skill levels, combining open-source geographic information systems (GIS) with artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and satellite and drone image processing.
The Geospatial Information Application Software Specialist Training Program, designed for university graduates and prospective graduates, provides six months of practical training in geospatial information and programming before connecting participants with employment opportunities.
The program’s average employment rate over the past five years was 97%. Those employed were counted as having joined geospatial information-related companies.
Kim Jin-sung, director of the Cadastral Training Institute, said, "We will continue to actively support national geospatial information industry policies and devote our full efforts to nurturing customized core talent who can contribute immediately in the field."
